Booki Vivat is the author and illustrator of the New York Times bestselling middle grade series, Frazzled. Booki has been doodling professionally since 2011 and not-so-seriously since childhood. Born and raised in California, Booki graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Her family is Thai and she is the only one of them all who can’t eat spicy food. Before becoming an author-illustrator, she taught middle school English abroad, fell off a ladder during a very brief stint as a bookseller, and worked in children's publishing in New York City. Now, she lives in Oakland, California, where she drinks lots of coffee and makes books for kids.
