ABOUT JAKE
Jake Burt is a teacher and the award-winning author of novels such as Cleo Porter and the Body Electric, Greetings from Witness Protection!, and The Right Hook of Devin Velma. Jake was born in Columbus, Ohio, and has lived in several places, such as Cincinnati, Knightdale, Durham, and Hamden, and in countries like The United Kingdom and China. Burt has spent much of his life in schools, both as a student and a teacher— perhaps the reason why many of his stories are set in schools and feature kids. He’s an avid ultimate frisbee player and a huge sports fan. He plays the banjo and reads lots of books, his biggest literary influences being Mark Twain, Judy Blume, E.B. White, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Sir Thomas Malory. Burt now lives in Hamden, CT with his wife and their daughter.
